About Player
Shubman Gill is part of the Indian national cricket team, where he plays as an opening batsman. A right-hander, Gill is a prolific batsman with a powerful strike arm, giving the ball that extra boost to go all across the boundary. He came into the limelight with a match-winning 102 not out against Pakistan in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, where he was also awarded the Man of the Tournament. The 24-year-old batsman was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders camp in the IPL and currently plays for Gujarat Titans.
Early Career
Born on 8th September 1999, Shubman Gill professed a love for cricket from the tender age of three. His father, who espoused dreams of becoming a cricketer himself but was unable to do so, left no stone unturned to enrich his son’s skill and realize his dreams through Shubman. From an early age, Gill was able to handle the cricket bat with skill, allowing him to power his shots across the stadium. Gill has played for the Punjab Under-16 team, where he scored an unbeaten double-century in his debut match. He went on to play Under-18 List A and first-class cricket, eventually securing a place for himself in the India Under-19 team in 2017.

In terms of records, Shubman Gill is only the fifth Indian batsman in history to have scored a double-century in international cricket. Additionally, he is the youngest cricket player in history to score a double century in ODI cricket. He won the IPL Orange Cap in 2023 for the second-highest total runs of 890 in IPL history.
