Easily one of the best cricketers in the world, Virat Kohli is the former captain of the Indian national cricket team and plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. A phenomenal captain, India won the 2011 World Cup under his leadership. Kohli is known for being a thunderous batsman, possibly one of the best in the history of the sport. Kohli is popular for his do-or-die spirit and his powerful swing arm, sending sixes over the bowler and across the boundary. Early Career

Virat Kohli was born in Delhi, India, on the 5th of November, 1988. From an early age, he displayed tremendous merit in cricket, which his father was quick to pick up on. Determined that it should not go to waste, his father got him enrolled at the West Delhi Cricket Academy, and began his career in domestic cricket in the Delhi Under-15 team. In succession, he was selected for the India Under-19 team in 2006 for its England tour. Kohli stood out with an average of 105 runs in three ODI matches. Based on his performance in the Under-19 team, he was selected for the Indian national team for the first time in 2008, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become the captain after Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

However, his crowning achievement was in 2019, when he became the only cricketer to score more than 20,000 international runs in a single decade.
